For those feeling:

High-Stress

Disconnected

outdoor integrative therapies

I believe healing should feel as natural as a walk in the woods—grounded, restorative, and deeply connected to who you are.

Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “broken”; it’s about embracing your growth, your seasons, and the journey you’re on. You deserve a space where you can move, breathe, and reconnect with your true self, without judgment or pressure.

I’m here to walk beside you, helping you navigate life’s challenges with compassion, curiosity, and the gentle wisdom of nature. Together, we’ll explore new paths, nurture your emotional well-being, and discover your inner strength—because you’re meant to bloom, not just survive.

Therapy in Nature, Tailored for Your Journey

I understand that sometimes, you don’t want to ‘talk about it’ in the traditional sense.” Eye contact too intense? No problem. We can walk, breathe, and let nature do some of the talking while we process together. No pressure, just presence.

That’s the magic of counseling in nature. There is enough space for every part of you and every emotion to show up.

I also know that life’s stress isn’t always about the big things. Sometimes it’s the little things piling up—the daily grind, the constant to-do list—that leaves you feeling disconnected.

It’s okay to need a break from it all, and we’ll join forces with nature to help you reset and find your way back to yourself.

When you’re unsure of your next step, it can feel like wandering through a fog. But every path becomes clearer with time, and I’m here to help you find yours, even if we need to wander a little to get there.

Your Path to Healing
Starts Outside

Everyone deserves to feel whole. You don’t have to struggle alone or feel trapped in spaces that don’t let you be your full, true self. Nature isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a partner in this healing process. The Earth holds us, moves us forward, and helps us grow.
Therapy should be the same.

What these clients found from Therapy in Nature

I Love to Watch My
Clients Bloom

  • I started working with Ranann after struggling for years with an on-again, off-again relationship. I was feeling frustrated and confused, questioning the way I show-up in all my relationships. Ranann helped me find peace of mind and self-reflection through a conversational approach. She listened intently, shared her perspective, and offered insight on human nature. She has an uncommon ability to make you feel comfortable discussing emotionally difficult topics. This along with her thoughtful questions and input made each session valuable. Thanks to her I’m in a much better place today, and I am eternally grateful.

  • I started therapy because I was experiencing depression, anxiety, mood swings from rage to sadness, and suicidal thoughts. Working with Ranann helped me understand the root of these problems… Ranann opened up a space where I could just talk freely about my emotions and experiences without fear of judgment. In our sessions she helped me talk through a tightly knotted web of stress, pain and buried feelings… Eventually I started feeling more like a whole person again. I had more positive energy. The drive to keep achieving more good things for myself and the people I care about came back, replacing the feeling of hopelessness.I would like to thank her once again and encourage others to reach out as well.

FAQS

Everything You Need to Know About Outdoor Therapy

  • We all can benefit from increased time spent outdoors in nature. And the courageous folks who are doing the work and growing in therapy are creating ripple effects in their own communities.  People who haven’t felt seen in a traditional therapy setting or don’t like the idea of sitting inside across from a Freud inspired expressionless face. People who want to feel held by the trees and embraced by the wind when they are allowing their vulnerable side to feel the sunlight.

  • You just need to have a body, nature does not care what it looks like or how it performs.

  • Yes, we can find a bench or a spot on the grass and sit during your session. This is a great option for slowing down and giving our bodies the rest they need.

  • Sessions are 60 minutes.

  • My three favorite park locations in Portland are Laurelhurst Park, Forest Park, and Cathedral Park. They all have their own charm and feel. You can select the park that is closest to you for convenience or you can plug in to my park schedule if you need a specific day and time.

  • Each client has their own timeline, but in order to develop a therapeutic relationship I ask my clients to commit to weekly sessions for at least 3 months. After that we can discuss moving to a bi-weekly or once a month session frequency.

  • $175 per session. I accept cash & credit cards.

  • I do not accept insurance, however I am happy to offer a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • Rain is just part of the therapy process here in the Pacific Northwest! We’ll embrace the weather by wearing rain jackets and continuing our session outdoors. If the weather becomes extreme, we can switch to an online session if needed.

  • Outdoor therapy isn’t the only option I offer. For folks who live in Oregon but are located outside the Portland metro area, online sessions are a great option.  If you’re more comfortable with online therapy, I’ve got you covered. Simply note this in your inquiry form.

  • After completing your intake paperwork and consent forms. I will send you directions to our meeting spot. You can make sure you’re prepared for all weather possibilities and wear comfortable walking shoes or rain boots.

  • When we move the therapy session outside, we experience the everyday unpredictability (weather, other people and their dogs, nature). We can use what is happening around us as a way to stay present in the here and now-and you take these skills with you throughout the other 167 hours of the week.

  • Putting one foot in front of the other, slowing down, sitting, noticing the sights, sounds, smells, sensations around us and how our they impact our bodies, taking deep breaths, observing changes in the scenery, observing and interacting with nature, relaxing, getting outside of our minds and back into our bodies, feeling a sense of connection to the world around us.

Ranann Bell

LPC

I’m Ranann Blatter, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Horticultural Therapist (HTR).

I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, where nature becomes our guide. I created Bellflower Therapy to offer clients a unique experience—one where we step outside the walls of a traditional therapy room and into nature. My approach focuses on walking side by side, allowing the natural environment to be a healing partner as you explore your emotions and work through life’s challenges.
